Alright, let’s talk about BoJack Horseman!
Anyone else completely blown away by this show? It’s animated, sure, but it deals with some seriously heavy stuff – depression, addiction, the pitfalls of fame… and it does it all with a cast of anthropomorphic animals.
What I love most is how the show doesn’t shy away from the ugliness of the human (and horse!) condition. The writing is sharp, the jokes are dark, and the characters are flawed and complex. You genuinely feel for BoJack, even when he’s being a total jerk.
Plus, the animation style is fantastic. The background gags are always on point, and the world they’ve created is just so rich and detailed.
Anyone else have a favorite episode or character? What are your thoughts on the ending? Let’s discuss!
I love BoJack Horseman! The show’s ability to balance dark humor with genuine emotional depth is incredible. The writing is so sharp, and the voice acting is superb.
That episode where BoJack goes to the underwater city? Brilliant. The visual metaphors and the exploration of isolation really hit hard. It’s a true artistic achievement.
The show’s exploration of celebrity culture and the entertainment industry is spot-on. It’s a satirical look at Hollywood, but it’s also deeply empathetic towards its characters.
Princess Carolyn is the best character, hands down. Her resilience and dedication are inspiring, even when facing constant setbacks. Her story arc is just fantastic.
I find myself constantly rewatching BoJack Horseman. There are always new details to discover and appreciate. The show’s layered storytelling is very engaging.
The show’s ending was perfect. It wasn’t a neatly tied-up bow, which is fitting for the show’s themes. It left the characters, and the viewer, with a lot to ponder.
Have you seen the documentary, Undone? I think it shares some similar themes about mental health as BoJack Horseman. It’s worth a watch if you liked BoJack.
