Planet 51: Birthday Disaster?
Hi everyone! I’m wondering if any of you have watched “Planet 51”? It’s an animation from 2009 that tells the story of an American astronaut landing on a planet inhabited by green people.
I remember that the plot was quite funny, and the humor was aimed at both children and adults. The astronaut tries to get back home while avoiding the military and meeting new friends.
How did you like this animation? What do you think of the characters, especially the main character, the astronaut? Do you think it’s a successful family film? Or maybe something particularly stuck in your memory? Share your impressions!
I loved Planet 51! The animation style was fantastic, and it was a clever take on the classic alien invasion trope. The fifties setting was charming.
Definitely a fun movie for the whole family! The humor really landed well, and the characters were memorable. Remember Lem?
I think the pacing was a little off in Planet 51, but the visuals were stunning. The design of the town was perfect!
Anyone else notice the similarities to E.T.? It felt like a reverse version of that story, which was pretty cool. The dog was funny.
The soundtrack in Planet 51 was great. It really added to the atmosphere and the retro vibe. Anyone know who did the music?
I wish there had been a sequel to Planet 51. There was definitely more story to tell with those characters and that world.
The concept of a human astronaut being the ‘alien’ was brilliant. It was a fresh spin on the familiar narrative.
Did anyone else catch all the references to classic sci-fi movies in Planet 51? They were everywhere!
Overall, Planet 51 is a solid, entertaining animated film. It’s definitely worth a watch if you’re looking for something light and fun.
